Job Summary:
The Healthcare Information Management (HIM) Supervisor is responsible for leading the team that analyze and organize pertinent records for use in medical assessment services. This position must ensure that their team identifies and label medical and non-medical documents and also prepares electronic documents for physician review.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the HIM Technicians to ensure accurate and timely preparation of pertinent records for
use in medical assessment services - Analyze, review and exports data for daily reports and distribution
- Responsible for all workflows related to department practices
- Support team members, as needed, on the following HIM Technician duties:
a. Analyze and organize pertinent records for use in medical assessment services.
b. Reads, examines and identifies treatment records, progress notes, and other
documentations relative to specific medical and/or psychological conditions listed by claimants’
c. Utilizes Adobe Acrobat software
d. Identifies listed medical or psychological conditions, including all related conditions or triggers,
and electronically index each according to their medical specialty
e. Follows document management practices consistent with organizational policies and
procedures, and appropriate for the type of service request
f. Ensures that electronic files are ready for physicians in a timely manner to facilitate completion
of services as scheduled - Sets goals for the HIM Technicians and monitors/communicates performance with an aim towards
continuous improvement - Participates in ongoing educational and/or training activities as required
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting, or related field from an accredited college, or equivalent
experience/combined education - ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE with EXCEL and creating reports is REQUIRED.
- 4 years of recent supervisory and/or leadership experience required
- Experience in production/metrics environment strongly preferred
- 3 to 6 years of working in a professional office environment is required
- Significant experience working in a medical, insurance, or call center is preferred
- Proven track record of supervising and/or leading other employees is required
- Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
