About the Position
Reporting to IAC’s site EHS/Facilities Managers and/or Specialists, the Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment not limited to, Aerial Booms, Scissor Booms, Fork-Lifts, Air Compressors, and other Building Maintenance to assist supporting EHS/Facilities to ensure company environmental health and safety policies are upheld, and to maintain the facility running at peak production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform and log preventative maintenance on all ground support equipment, HVAC, and facility. This includes scheduling with production and ensuring that the maintenance is done in a timely fashion and not to impede with the work scope of production.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual services
- Perform exterior hangar tasks based upon seasonal needs.
- Maintain inventory tooling and equipment
- Assist with continual improvement systems
- Maintain 5S principles of Sorting, Systematic Arrangement, Shining, and Standardizing and Sustaining
Position Requirements
- Ability to read and write English, must have extremely strong communication skills, be able to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent communication skills within internal and external customers.
- 5 to 7 years of verifiable experience in the repair and maintenance of Aerial Booms, Scissor Booms, Fork-Lifts, Air Compressors to include Hydraulic Systems, Electrical Systems and Gas/Diesel motors.
- Excellent trouble shooting skills
- Ability to prepare work estimates and quotes
- Ability to coordinate with 3rd party for any outside scope of work
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five-to-seven years related experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
- Formal Equipment Training/Certification is a plus.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic understanding of Microsoft Suites.
