Job description
The Help Desk Representative position is responsible for provisioning, installing and configuring matters and equipment related to the operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software as well as related infrastructure. This position will be located in our Montevallo, Alabama facility.
What you do:
- Sets up and maintains users in various applications including ERP, WMS, phone systems, etc.
- Orders supplies and hardware from various vendors based on requests and stock levels.
- Coordinates repairs with third party vendors such as copiers, printers and computer warranty issues.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, and network issues.
- Sets up and maintains end user hardware (computers, printers, phones, etc.).
- Prioritizes user requests for Help Desk services.
- Resolves basic to complex problems submitted by users.
- Analyzes and identifies trends in issue reporting and devises preventative solutions.
- Maintains IT inventory of hardware and supplies and keeps storage area organized.
- Installs and tests low voltage cable as needed.
- Helps users with problems on non-SC hardware (personal phones and computers).
- Assists with any other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s college degree in Mathematics, Economics, Information Management, Computer Science, or related field required; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Three or more years of experience with Microsoft Office, Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Basic Networking and cabling.
- High attention to detail (data accuracy and integrity).
- Intermediate project planning skills.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work individually and in a team-based environment.
