Herbicide Ag Biologist, Research Triangle Park, NC #2300032

We are seeking a professional like you to become a part of our Biology R&D - Herbicide Development greenhouse and laboratory herbicide evaluation team. As a member of the team, you will assist or coordinate greenhouse, growth chamber and laboratory experiments supporting herbicide product evaluation, selection and development. You will also assume responsibility for all daily activities required to successfully conduct assigned studies.

As Biologist II you create chemistry by…

Working under moderate supervision, you will be responsible for propagate and maintain greenhouse plants, managing and conducting herbicide discovery and development trials, collecting and analyzing data, reporting results to the team while providing your own innovative thinking.

• Applying your relevant education and experience, you will understand herbicide biology, plant physiology, research methodologies and interpretation of results.

• Leveraging your education (Master's or PhD) in Weed Science, Agronomy, Physiology, Horticulture or other relevant Agricultural science and your relevant industry work experience, you will support research aspects including herbicide physiology, experimental design, crop / weed production, test substance application, maintenance, data collection, data analysis, presentation of results and related training demonstrations.

• Applying your proficiency in the fundamental aspects of experimental design and data analysis, you will treat plants, and soil with experimental and registered crop protection materials, most commonly herbicides.

• Your strong written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you prepare written formal reports that summarize experimental procedures and results, with occasional oral presentations.

• Working as a member of a multidisciplinary research team with solid leadership skills, you will supervise temporary employees or interns.

Your formula for success…

Experience conducting herbicide greenhouse and field trials, knowledge of Herbicide Mode of Action, weed identification, statistical research design, laboratory (c14, HPLC work), in a research environment with both weed and crop species (corn, cotton, soybean, wheat, rice, canola) preferred.

Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and using the agricultural database ARM.
