Job Summary:
HilltopSecurities is currently looking to hire a HFA TBA Data Analyst. The whole loan trading desk in New York manages risk on residential mortgages, from the time that the rate is locked for the borrower, through securitization and ultimate sale of the resulting MBS. The desk has been in existence for several years, and the business has experienced rapid growth. Significant technology is already in place to help manage the business; however the desk is seeking an analyst to assist in the daily operations, maintenance & enhancement of existing analytics and also to help upgrade existing framework to the next level. Essential Functions:
Salary Range: $85-100k per year

Significant technology is already in place to help manage the business; however the desk is seeking an analyst to assist in the daily operations, maintenance & enhancement of existing analytics and also to help upgrade existing framework to the next level.
- Working closely with the senior trader to provide production programming support, systems advice and ad-hoc research of technical issues
- Implementation of toolsets and databases to support ongoing desk activities
- Development, enhancement & maintenance of custom SSRS reports
- Sending daily, weekly & monthly reports to clients as well as external and internal business partners
- Performing data analysis using SQL programming and/or Python
- Remaining engaged with the trading desk activities and ushering in efficiencies through automation of existing tasks where possible
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Math or Statistics
- Programming knowledge of SQL, Python, VBA and familiarity with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server)
- Basic knowledge of fixed-income math, working knowledge of Bloomberg preferred
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
- An aptitude for zero fault tolerance and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
