JOB SUMMARY:
The High School Career Coordinator provides program management of LEAP’s high school career services, which works in tandem with LEAP’s high school programs, but primarily with LEAP’s Teen Centers in Salem & Lynn (new site). This role supervises volunteer career mentors and guests throughout the school year, and a large summer program team to ensure high-quality career development experiences that are safe and welcoming for students, staff, and the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Career Program Management: Collaborates with the Teen Center Coordinators in Salem and Lynn (and College Success Program, as needed) to ensure students have access to all the career opportunities for their grade level. This will include planning special events (such as speaker series, career field trips, mock interviews, etc.), or, embedding career topics directly within club or activity time.
- Curriculum Development: Identifies facilitation needs or curriculum development support for career lessons for each site. Acts as the central project manager for all high school career curricula.
- Coordinate Summer Work Program: Plans and implements LEAP’s Summer Work Program in collaboration with the Middle School Career Coordinator; hires and supports temporary summer staff.
- Volunteer Engagement: Partners with Volunteer and Partnerships Coordinator to recruit and engage career services volunteers and career mentors in special events and the Summer Work Program.
- Budgets: Track expenses and operate within approved budget parameters.
- Data and Evaluation: Ensure assessments and metrics reporting required by grants in support of career services programs are completed, entered into Salesforce (where applicable), and reviewed on a timely basis.
- Communication: Responds to the needs of staff, students, families, and community members in a timely and thoughtful manner. Creates clear messaging for students, families, and staff as it relates to Career Connections.

SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree and 2-4+ years relevant experience OR 3-5 years of relevant experience required. Relevant experience includes education or workforce development experience as well as experience in project management.
- Computer skills required: Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity, developing an equity-lens, and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Experience or demonstrated interest in working with underserved youth and commitment to developing skills to best support this demographic group and demonstrated understanding of the unique barriers faced by this group
- Must hold the belief that all youth have the ability to enroll and graduate with a post-secondary degree or credential, if they choose to do so
- Must have access to reliable transportation and/or a current driver’s license for days when travel is required
- Must be willing to work very few instances of weekends or evenings for special events or activities
WORK LOCATION AND HOURS:
Some remote work is possible when not required to be in classrooms. A hybrid schedule will be determined at time of hire.
TRAVEL:
50% travel is required for this position. Most travel is local between sites on the North Shore (Lynn, Salem, Peabody) and accessible by car.
