Qualifications

• Experience working with high school students highly preferred
• After-school program leadership experience
• Track record of providing innovative, creative, and engaging ELP activities
• Experience with training, coaching, and supervising staff
• Experience with program promotion and attendance achievement strategies
• Experience working with school administrators, teachers, students, and parents
• Education background (with BA) preferred

ABOUT COMMUNITY YOUTH MINISTRIES (CYM)

Started in 1992 as a collaborative effort of 15 local churches to provide positive alternate activities for area youth, we are a 501(c)(3) that partners with local organizations, schools, and churches to empower and strengthen youth through various programs including after school programming. We serve youth in multiple cities throughout California's San Joaquin Valley, including Reedley, Orange Cove, Dinuba, and Caruthers. Currently, we run 13 after-school programs in the Kings Canyon Unified School District. We are passionate advocates for youth, upholding a culture of integrity, kindness, and responsibility.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Full Time High School EXPANDED LEARNING PROGRAM (ELP) PROGRAM MANAGER

As a High School ELP Program Manager, you oversee site leads and staff at our high school site, to ensure a safe environment for students during the after-school hours by providing quality academic and enrichment activities through after-school programming. Your ultimate responsibility is to create a fun, safe, enriching ELP environment for students and staff in collaboration with our program partners. You collaborate with the CYM leadership team and partner agencies in creating and monitoring program budgets, and ensure that each staff member is effectively equipped, and ensure all program activities align with applicable standards. Under your innovative leadership, ELP staff are inspired to be invested in their work. You observe them and offer critiques in a way that is motivating. You conduct, regular site visits and inspiring staff meetings that include professional development training.

Your job is highly collaborative. You cultivate relationships with parents, school staff, CYM staff, and applicable granting agencies. Your supportive and upbeat energy helps staff feel confident and capable. As a role model, you set a good example at all times. You feel great about igniting the light within each staff member by providing them with opportunities to reach their full potential, in order to create stronger students, stronger families, and stronger communities!

FULL -TIME WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position typically works 8 hours/day, generally following the district academic calendar.
