Job Purpose: Under the general supervision of the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Health Information Management & Purchased Referred Care Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant patients records and ensuring patient referrals are received and processed. This position will provide oversight, guidance and workflow of Health Information Management (HIM) and Purchased Referred Care (PRC) programs. Will coordinate and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and the policies and procedures of Sonoma County Indian Health Project, Inc. (SCIHP). Will be part of the administrative team and serve as a subject matter expert and be a trainer/mentor to staff.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must comply with Federal and California laws regarding the use and disclosure of individually identifiable health information, with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).
• Ensure the confidentiality of all health records, and any information received in writing, verbal, or other forms.
• Ability to motivate, coach and challenge staff to provide continuous improvement, employee retention and development and higher performance.
• Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with staff and delegate tasks and responsibilities that are best suited for them to complete.
• Ability to provide appropriate review and technical assistance in maintaining accreditation's and meet new and evolving survey requirements. (AAAHC)
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
• Must show proof of completed COVID vaccines and Booster. Also, annual FLU vaccine.
