Job description
This job REQUIRES Minimum of 3 years MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE in either custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services.
SHIFT NEEDED - 2pm-10:30 PM
Responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Fulfills management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
- Ability to designate shift and area of work assignments for custodians and lead personnel; conduct training
- Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies in a large or small scale Janitorial activities of the service.
- Thorough knowledge of methods used in cleaning of a large or small facility
- Knowledge of floor care (hard floor and carpeting)
- Ability to work with a diverse workforce
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to operate and use tools/equipment for training purposes
- Ability to make the most efficient use of personnel as instructed, can delegate tasks and assignments
- Ability to train and manage a large or small group of employees
- Considerable knowledge of employee policies and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and respond using oral and written communication
- Ability to prioritize multiple task
- Ability to work effectively independently or with a team
- Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practices, cleaning products and use
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily work of leads and custodians; inspect all assigned areas daily to ensure work is being carried out properly and orderly
- Evaluate performance of custodial personnel; prepares and submits disciplinary actions and incident reports; counsel’s employees
- Holds daily staff briefings to cover key topics for the day as required and ensures staff has clear understanding of responsibilities and has tools and equipment needed for their job
- Identifies development and training needs, and ensures that all training is obtained
- Coordinate and set up events properly; close out work orders properly and in a time manner
- Maintain records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work
- Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas, gives special cleaning instructions and/ or assignments, and is in compliance with direction of upper Management
- Conducts inspections utilizing company issued methods and measures as instructed by upper Management
- Conducts Supply inventory counts, restocking, and organization as instructed by upper Management
- Trains and ensures the subordinate staff understands their job requirements, this includes the proper cleaning methods, the use of equipment, safety practices, illness and injury prevention and work regulation
- Review schedules, conduct new and reoccurring trainings as required
- Assists with ensuring overall customer satisfaction, this includes daily reporting to Upper management
- Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained
- Corresponds with Manager for support, updates, and duties
Physical Demands and Performance Expectations: The Supervisor position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects operating medium weight cleaning equipment. Supervisor must perform the duties outlined which comply with the facility/company policies and regulations to create a cooperative, safe, respectful, and quality work environment.
