Histotechnologist / Histotechnician Position Summary

The Histotechnologist (Histotechnician) prepares tissue and body fluid specimens sent for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist, performing any special staining techniques and /or immunoperoxidase techniques requested by the pathologist. He/She performs appropriate clerical and computer applications necessary to process ant charge these specimens The Histotechnologist (Histotechnician) participates in educational and training activities and may participate in routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

Histotechnologist / Histotechnician Position Requirements

• Registered Histotechnologist or eligible for registration by successful completion of an approved program of Histology Technology

OR

• Successful completion of an approved program of Histology Technology (A.A.) degree plus demonstrated technical proficiency resulting form certification by an accepted agency. One year preferred

• This position can be filled with a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician

Histotechnologist / Histotechnician Benefits

• At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
