This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work arrangements. (Maximum of two days remote, three days in-office). To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 6 months of continuous, regular employment, be in good standing, and submit a formal hybrid work application prior to being eligible for hybrid work, pending supervisor approval. Work schedules will be established by the employee's supervisor according to business needs. Working locations and schedules may be altered at management discretion.

Title: HMDA Specialist
Department: Consumer Lending
Reports to: Home Equity Loan Processing Supervisor
FLSA: Non-exempt
Job Grade: 9 ($23.86-$25.39 starting hourly rate)
Job Purpose: The HMDA Specialist is responsible for administering and maintaining the Credit Unions compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and other applicable federal and state fair lending laws and regulations related to HMDA. The HMDA Specialist will be responsible for reviewing all HMDA reportable loan applications across all business lines in accordance with established policies and procedures and assist in the preparation and maintenance of the HMDA Loan Application Register (LAR). The HMDA Specialist is responsible for assisting with data management and reporting associated with regulatory reporting needs as well as other administrative tasks.
Essential Job Results:
JOB SPECIFIC RESULTS
Responsible for a final review of all HMDA reportable loans identified on the LAR for 100% accuracy prior to the annual LAR submission. Complete annual submission of HMDA data to CFPB.- Responsible for staying current with regulatory changes and any new guidance that would impact HMDA reporting.
- Serves as the subject matter expert on HDMA and provides training and guidance to other Credit Union employees in relation to HMDA data collection, tracking, and reporting software systems.
- Verifies the input of HMDA information into the Credit Unions processing system.
- Follow up with lenders or processing to confirm required information. Review trends of data errors and provide feedback and staff trainings.
- Perform geocoding, data quality and validity checks on HMDA data.
- Research and resolve exceptions identified.
- Assists with remediation and corrective action of compliance deficiencies identified through internal and external compliance reviews, audits, and examinations.
- Ensures record retention requirements are met according to the Credit Union's policies and procedures.
- Using HMDA software, import data and run analysis reports.
- Analyzes HMDA data for potential impact to the Credit Union and advises key personnel on recommended policy, procedure, and program training changes.
- Prepares reports as necessary to assist management team in analyzing strategic objectives.
- Assist as required with regulatory exams as well as internal and external audits.
- Participate on project-oriented teams to assess existing controls and provide advisory input on new controls that are being considered or in development.
- Assist with additional lending functions as needed.

- Maintains account records by updating member information as necessary.
- When directly serving members, cross-sells credit union services by answering inquiries, actively informing members of new services and product promotions, ascertaining members needs, directing members to other staff as appropriate.

- Maintains member and employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and sharing on a business-related as-needed basis only.
- Engages in problem resolution by clarifying the members and/or employees complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution; and keeping the supervisor informed of problems and solutions.
- Complies with UKFCU policies and procedures by enforcing and adhering to internal UKFCU procedures and board-established policies.
- Complies with federal, state and local regulations and legal requirements by enforcing and adhering to requirements.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by maintaining an awareness of competitors rates and terms, industry trends and technology; attending staff meetings; identifying opportunities to attend seminars that enhance skills and maintain knowledge of new products that could assist in improving operational effectiveness; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing corporate and individual goals and other related results as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- One year of similar or related HMDA experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of HMDA and other fair lending laws/regulations
- Ability to communicate with others one-on-one, fielding questions and responding to complaints.
- Ability to work with other employees.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions while dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to write reports, correspondence and procedures.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to be self-motivated.
- Ability to work with strict deadlines and under pressure.
