The WesleyLife Public Health team is currently hiring a full-time home care aide to provide homemaking services to clients in Polk County. Our team is small, very close, and consists of six tenured home care aides and two nurses. Work hours are Monday-Friday 8 am-5:00 pm, no weekends or holidays.
A normal day would consist of four visits to client homes. Some visits are in the same building while others may require you to drive to different locations. Each client visit lasts two hours and consists of performing routine household housekeeping tasks (for example: laundry; and cleaning the bathroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom).
During your visits you can build a rapport with clients you see weekly and or bi-weekly. You will help them maintain their independence and live in their home as long as possible by performing your tasks and providing emotional and mental support.

As a Home Care Aide for Public Health:
- Travel to complete client visit at the pre-scheduled time and location (four visits a day lasting two hours each)
- Perform light housekeeping – including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, dry mopping, dishwashing, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, and changing beds
- Do laundry including washing, drying, and folding clothes
- Monitor client supplies
- Observe and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance.
- Follow each client’s care plan and submit documentation using a tablet
- Participate in staff meetings
Current Opening:
- Full-time, Monday-Friday 8 am-5:00 pm, no weekends or holidays.

Experience
Required- 1 year(s): Previous experience working with clients with mental and behavioral issues
- Ability to pass a pre-hire background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle report
- Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and valid insurance
- Must be 18 years or older
- 1 year(s): Previous home care experience
Education
Required- High School or better
Licenses & Certifications
Preferred- Certified Nursing Asst
