Job Summary
Join UT Southwestern as a Home Health Aide within our Home Health department. Care given or supervised by registered nurses. Nurses provide direct care; manage, observe, and evaluate a patient’s care; and teach the patient and his or her family caregiver.
Job Duties
Performs duties as assigned on home health care plan prepared by registered nurse.
Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, weight, respiration, and pulse. Reports changes in patient's mental or physical condition or in home situation to nursing supervisor. Assists other members of nursing team and/or other disciplines.
Provides personal care assistance to patients. Maintains patient records and charts to ensure accurate record of treatment.
Maintains confidentiality of patient data. Assists in maintaining healthy, safe environment.
Attends mandatory in service educational programs as required by federal and state regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Paid per visits and see patients in their homes within the Dallas Fort Worth Area)
Also, days and times are variable depending on the patient and the Home Health Aide preferences.
Experience and Education
High school diploma or equivalent and no experience is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)** Highly Preferred: Home Health Aide and six (6) months experience.
