Job Purpose and Objectives
Provide Home Health Nurse Aide services in the homes of sick or disabled persons. Record information in patient's medical record. Perform light cleaning duties, prepare simple meals and run short errands. Job Competencies
Assist patients with baths and proper skin care. Observe skin for any disorders. Assist clients in getting dressed. Straighten bathroom after bathing client. Housekeeping duties. Document what was done for client. Report any change in client"s health/habits. Register vital signs of patient (weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration and temperature as instructed by RN). Direct Observation Therapy. Other duties as assigned by R.N. Vehicle responsibilities may include gas, oil change, washing, repairs, mileage logs or routine maintenance per automotive services. May deliver supply list to hospital. May pick up necessary supplies. May shampoo, dry and comb/brush hair. May run short errands for client. May make beds for client. May prepare simple meals. May monitor medication compliance when directed by R.N. May give enemas; insert suppositories when authorized by R.N. Provide patient and family members with psychological and emotional support. Encourage realistic independence. Promote patient"s mental alertness through conversation, socialization and active listening. Performs foot care to non-diabetics. Contribute to Quality Improvement initiatives and performance measurement systems. May perform assist nurse practitioner or physician clinic as assigned by the nurse. Assist with other departments as directed by supervisor. Maintain work area. Maintain all equipment per infection control policy and procedures. Ensure, on a daily basis, that bag has ample supplies. Report to supervisor when supplies are becoming low in amount. Protects and maintains any confidential information, whether oral, written, or electronic. Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or needed. Position Requirements and Qualifications
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities - Past experience in home health care. Position Requirements - High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. Attend in-service monthly meetings. Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position.

Certifications / Licenses - Kansas certification as a Home Health Aide OR CNA required. Work Environment and Pre-Employment Screenings
