Position Summary:

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide occupational therapy under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to patients in the home according to a physician’s plan of treatment.

Position Duties:

• Treat patient to relieve pain, develop and restore function, and maintain maximum performance using appropriate treatment, modalities and procedures as outlined within the care plan
• Under the supervision of the occupational therapist, instruct the patient in prescribed therapeutic self-care and creative activities directed toward improving independence, physical abilities, and mental functioning
• Guide patient with established household management routines
• Instruct patient and family in the use of prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices
• Participate in case conferences as assigned and collaborate with other members of the health care team to accomplish patient care goals
• Other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to speak and write in English
• Unrestricted driver’s license
• Current automobile insurance according to Company policy

Licensing/Certification/Education/Experience Requirements:

• At least one (1) year of experience as a occupational therapy assistant within a home health setting preferred
• Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
• Current state certified occupational therapy assistant license
• Current CPR certification

Physical Requirements:

• Physical Ability to lift to 40 pounds
• Work requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling
