POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Installation Technician Assistant for Curacao, the primary responsibility is to perform his/her duty in a way that exceeds our customer’s expectations. Customer Service at is our number one objective. Each Technician plays an important role in reaching this objective by providing the best Customer Service possible in a friendly and courteous manner. Technician Assistants will be responsible for providing on-site support to the installation technician such assistance includes lifting, mounting, cabling and, customer orientation all other related tasks. This includes the set-up, programming, and customer orientation. It is the goal of the Technician Assistant to help provide an exciting experience by interacting with customer in all aspects of the installation and programming preferences. We are looking for someone with at least 2 or more years of experience/ background in home theater installation, home automation deployment, network installation, tv and speaker installation, and home automation programming. We pride ourselves in customer service and make sure that every customer is extremely happy with their system and continue to be our customers for the life of that system. The potential candidate should be highly productive, extremely motivated, organized, and have a friendly, humble, and outgoing attitude. It is a necessity that this person gets along with others, have a reliable mobile phone, a clear driving record, and have excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation Technician Assistant’s will be mainly responsible for providing different services including, Home Automation, Security Cameras Installations, In-Home TV installations, Home Theater/Sound Bar Entertainment Systems Installations, Assembling, delivery of products as well as other tasks required within the Service Department that may not be linked to their essential responsibilities and will be up to management discretion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

As a Member of the team, the Installation Technician Assistant will be responsible for providing Home Theater Entertainment Systems support to the customer by fulfilling the following functions:

Functions:

  • Program the Remote Unit to the Entertainment System according to customer specifications.
  • Provide the customer with an orientation of the entire system and its functions and controls.
  • Provide support to customers with any issues with the installation or programming by troubleshooting and diagnosing the System. Provide an explanation of the issue and answer questions that the customer may have.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The Technician Assistant must have a basic understanding of the Audio-Visual Industry, specifically in the area of Home Entertainment and related components, as well as an educational background in the field of computer programming and network system support. The Technician Assistant must also have the ability to work in a team atmosphere and be able to lead a team leader (to be considered for a possible future promotion).

  • Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations (in-wall installations) and Company policies
  • Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder
  • Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner preferred
  • Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
  • Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles, towers and roofs)
  • Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers in the installation of cable to the residence and TV set converters
  • Ability to work while standing 50-70% of the time
  • Ability to comply with all Company implemented safety procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate courtesy and patience in customer relations
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate appropriate testing equipment (e.g. signal level meters, ohm meters, etc.)
  • Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Advanced Qualifications:

Ability to perform Audio & Computer programming to integrate Home Theater systems with Audio Systems to enhance the Home Entertainment experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Must have completed high school and some college is preferred.

Language Skills: Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Mathematics: Must have an understanding of basic Measurement skills.

Reasoning Skills: Must be able to make on-site decisions and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Certificates and Licenses

Certification or Degree in an electronics related field with 2 years experience in the field.

  • Acceptable Education: Trade School, College, or University education.
  • If candidate does not have an educational background or certification it may be substituted for experience on the job. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in Home Theater Installations and must be able to demonstrate practical knowledge in the area of structures to perform the service of wall mounting.
  • Acceptable Certification: A+, MCSE, CompTia Network

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job requires that the Technician Assistant work in the field with an assigned partner and vehicle/ equipment. The work is done in the customer’s home and requires working with powered tools and standing on ladders. It may require lifting 80 lbs or more while climbing a ladder.

WORK SCHEDULE

Current Worked schedule, but (not limited to):

  • Possible change of schedule in the future

o 2 non-tandem weekdays off

o Saturday + Sunday are mandatory

  • Standard hours are (alternating based on booking needs):

o 12PM – 9PM

o 9AM – 7PM

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
