Horizontal Directional Drill Operator/Underground Utility Equipment Operator

Position

Cable Communication Services, LLC is hiring for Horizontal Directional Drilling positions. This position will work on an underground power utility crew drilling and boring, installing conduit, pulling conductor, pulling fiber, repairing wire and operating other heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and direct work of a crew of 3-4 employees
• Precise and safe drill operation; able to adapt tooling to ground conditions
• Must be familiar with vacuum truck equipment and maintenance
• Diagnose common issues associated with the Horizontal Directional Drilling process
• Call in utility locates
• Pot hole utilities in bore path
• Determine bore path per inspectors
• Verify depths and alignments of boring positions.
• Monitor drilling operations, checking gauges and listening to equipment to assess drilling conditions and to determine the need to adjust drilling or alter equipment.
• Maintain and service equipment as necessary; may include welding
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in horizontal directional drilling
• Ability to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
• Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
• Valid DOT Medical Certification
• Pass pre-employment and other drug screening requirements
• Travel required
• Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.20 - $28.80 per hour
