Areas is seeking for a Host/Hostess to operate in our The Cook and The Ox restaurant located at the award-winning Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport.
Position Details:
- Status - Full Time
- Hourly Rate - $18.00
- Schedule - Open Availability (6-8 hrs. minimum) must have weekend availability
Broad Functions: Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of guests to a table that best serves their wishes and needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demeanor - Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
- Courtesy - When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
- Customer Service - When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party. Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
- Provide guests with estimated waiting time. Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible. Seat guest guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations.
- Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
- Track - Keep accurate guess count to ensure proper and efficient seating rotation.
- Team - Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
- Appreciation - Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.

Skills and Qualifications
- Experience - At least 6 months of experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Communication - Verbal and written English language are essential. Able to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Organization - Excellent organizational skills.
- Customer Service - Excellent guest service skills with attention to detail.
- Physical - Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

The associate is also occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and either lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
