JOB SUMMARY:

Ranken Jordan is looking for a Housekeeping/Laundry Associate. This is a part time evening position to rotate Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm including alternating weekends. Housekeeping/Laundry Associates maintains high quality cleaning standards and cleaning supply inventory. Processes laundry in such a manner as to prevent the transmission of organisms or disease from one patient to another.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathers, sorts, processes and stocks linen, complying with Laundry Policy.
  • Performs tasks per daily schedule using standard procedures.
  • Performs proper cleaning of laundry equipment, room, and reports the need for repairs.
  • Performs daily cleaning schedule using standard procedures. (Including but not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, floor care, and general cleaning of patient rooms, bathrooms and facility.)
  • Reports the need for repairs or replacement of equipment, furniture and fixtures.
  • Assists with patient evacuation in case of fire or other emergency and during fire drills.
  • Responsible for adhering to all safety practices and procedures.
  • Knows the mission and values of Ranken Jordan and in accordance, maintains appropriate professional behavior at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager/Facilities Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Must demonstrate the correct use of cleaning chemicals, supplies and equipment.

  • Must be able to read, speak, write, make calculations, and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must have the ability to use equipment associated with Housekeeping and Laundry.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, climbing ladders, standing, carrying, and lifting of heavy loads (up to 50 lb.).
