The Showboat Hotel, the jewel of Atlantic City, is conveniently located on the Atlantic City boardwalk just feet away from the Atlantic Ocean. Position Summary:
A Housekeeping Houseperson performs various tasks to ensure hotel cleanliness by personally handling cleaning assignments and ensuring that other staff members have the necessary materials to meet their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Some, but certainly not all, of this position's responsibilities include;
  • Cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Moving/arranging furniture and dusting/polishing furniture, metalwork and equipment.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
  • Collecting soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
  • Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing with supplies.
  • Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
Qualifications:
Here's a few of the responsibilities of this position, but certainly not limited to:
  • Must be detail-oriented in cleaning rooms and public spaces.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
  • Must be energetic and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
