REPORTS TO: General Manager

JOB PURPOSE: To oversee designated associates, public areas and guestrooms.

JOB SUMMARY: Directs Room Attendants, and House Attendants working in assigned area and

completes inspections of assigned areas. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.

DUTIES:

• Willingness to accept the most effective role.
• Assists with open/close duties of Housekeeping dept.; including lost and found.
• Checks unoccupied rooms and compares to discrepancies.
• Oversees the activities and actions of assigned personnel.
• Inspects clean/vacant and occupied rooms for cleanliness, supplies, maintenance problems, and guest-room temperature.
• Completes and communicates maintenance work orders to Maintenance Lead and General Manager.
• Ensures linen storage rooms, trash rooms, and Housekeeping carts are clean, organized, and properly inventoried for following business days activities.
• Ensures combustible substances are removed from storage areas.
• Keeps corridors, vending areas, and stairwells clean and free of obstructions.
• Supervises employees and discusses personnel issues with General Manager.
• Investigates and reports inappropriate behavior by staff, guests or suspicious persons.
• Evaluates productivity and quality of work of each employee and determines additional training needs.
• Ensures employees report in to Housekeeping office, and cleared before departing.
• Turns over all vacant, clean rooms; verifies stay-overs, reports early check out, and communicates issues and discrepancies with Front Desk.
• Conducts Room Attendant performance appraisals in a timely manner.
• Trains new employees and provides continued training for current employees.
• Conducts Quality Assurance (QA) audits.
• Maintains recommended par levels of inventories.
• Attends pertinent Housekeeping meetings.
• Responsible for consumable inventories

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred skills include conflict resolution, coaching, teamwork, and time management.
• Complete knowledge and skill of room attendant, and House person.
• Previous experience in hotel preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift up to thirty (30) pounds, unassisted.
• Bending, stretching, excessive walking.
• Exposure to chemicals.
