We are currently seeking a Housing Specialist to serve in a leadership position for a client impacted by Hurricane Ian. This is a long-term contract position that will be based in Fort Myers, Florida, but may require some occasional business travel throughout Lee County.

This temporary position is assigned to an active contract that is expected to be in place for several years in support of multi-jurisdictional, long-term disaster recovery programs. The Housing Specialist shall provide project management support and advisory services to clients challenged with administering complex housing aspects of this government program.

The responsibilities of Housing Specialist include, but are not limited to:

• Leverage management and federal funding management experience to develop and administer housing projects effectively through program planning, budget preparation, auditing, risk management, process improvement, etc.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate housing activities as related to the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program, Hurricane Housing Recovery Program (HHRP), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance (IA), and other applicable federal, state, and local programs.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure technical project work is on track by utilizing project management methodologies, project scheduling, communication organizational goals, supporting budgeting efforts, and taking an analytical approach to solving problems.
• Provide housing program expertise to clients related to disaster recovery long-term missions.
• Become entrenched with internal program experts in other technical disciplines to better support our clients and guide them through complex disaster recovery efforts.
• Perform additional administrative tasking as assigned, such as collaborating with team members in other functional disciplines within the program, including infrastructure, procurement, contract management, planning, compliance, etc.

Candidates for Housing Specialist must possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in management.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in federal funding management.
• Prior federal, state, or local housing program, project management, strategic planning, and grant writing experience.
• Strong communication skills, including written and verbal presentation ability to clients.
• Proficiency in the basic MS Office tools including Excel, Power Point, as well as Visio and Smartsheet.
• The ability to work in office in Fort Myers, Florida and perform business travel throughout Lee County as needed.
• A bachelor's degree.
• Experience with Florida SHIP (State Housing Initiatives Partnership).

Candidates for Housing Specialist may also have the following qualifications:

• Experience with scheduling or program management software tools, such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Licenses and/or certifications related to housing.
• Education related to project management, engineering, architecture, planning, business administration, or a related field.
• Prior consulting experience within the disaster recovery space.
