Our team in Owatonna, MN is seeking a HR Assistant - Talent Acquisition who will contribute to creating a positive experience for all internal and external candidates by assisting with a variety of administrative tasks and responsibilities to ensure a seamless recruitment, hiring, onboarding, orientation, and training process.

At a minimum you'll need:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

It would be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration
  • One year of experience in an administrative or human resource role
  • One year of experience using an HRIS and/or ATS software

As a HR Assistant for Talent Acquisition a typical day might include:

Recruitment

  • Posting open position requisitions
  • Responding to a wide variety of questions from internal and external candidates related to recruitment
  • Ensuring all applicants successfully complete the application process
  • Communicating with applicants / keeping them up-to-date on the status of their candidacy
  • Tracking candidates status in HRIS
  • Coordinating manufacturing interviews as requested by the Talent Acquisition Specialists
  • Sending rejection emails and appropriately assigning disposition codes
  • Maintaining the HR dashboard
  • Creating interview guides for open positions
  • Communicating open positions for internal publication in the Wenger Weekly
  • Assisting with any/all aspects of the recruitment process as requested

Onboarding

  • Processing background checks
  • Scheduling pre-employment drug screens
  • Facilitating employee Self-Onboarding in HRIS
  • Establishing new employees in our HRIS
  • Assigning appropriate new hire checklists and new hire Learning assignments in HRIS
  • Submitting IT tickets for new hires
  • Creating and coordinating new hire orientation schedules
  • Communicating new hires with Hiring Manager, New Hire Orientation team & Administrative Services
  • Facilitating new hire photos
  • Conducting new hire orientation related to HRIS
  • Completing Form I-9, EVerify, I-9 properly managing documentation
  • Coordinating Mobile Device program
  • Preparing hard copy new employee files
  • Providing weekly updates to the HR team related to new hire orientation
  • Assisting with any/all aspects of the onboarding process as requested

Training & Development

  • Assists with the preparation of the bi-annual performance review process
  • Coordinates training sessions and seminars
  • Maintains participation / attendance records
  • Assisting with any/all aspects of the training process as requested

Administrative

  • Sorts and disperses incoming HR mail
  • Serves as a back -up receptionist to cover the companys main switchboard
  • Maintains and coordinates Ask Here functionality in HRIS
  • Confidentially maintains hard copy personnel files and completes filing
  • Supports the HR team in educating employees and enforcing company policies
  • Redirects inquires to the appropriate member of the HR team regarding HR related questions and concerns
  • Performs routine clerical and administrative work and miscellaneous projects as requested / needed
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices
  • Continually looks for ways to improve processes
  • Adheres to all workplace and trade safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices
