HR/Benefits Administrator

General Description

The HR/Benefits Administrator is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, 403b, etc.). This position provides excellent customer service and collaborates with brokers/vendors to provide quality benefits plans and provides support to the Human Resources Department.

As a member of the scheduling team, duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value to the organization in conjunction with management.
  • Benefits administration including maintaining and updating employee records and benefit files
  • Oversee and administer all aspects of ACA
  • manage and track employee's incentive programs, loan programs, and maintain compliance posters
  • Serve as contact with broker, insurance companies, and retirement plan provider
  • Notify employees of eligibility and distribute information as needed
  • Answer questions, solve basic problems, make basic decisions
  • Enroll employees, implement coverage changes and terminations, ensure appropriate documentation
  • Un-enroll employees as needed
  • Track variable hours for part-time and on-call employees
  • Open enrollment process
  • Compensation administration
  • L&I administration
  • Conduct exit and “stay” interviews
  • Generate and analyze reports
  • Unemployment Management (back-up)
  • Assist in managing Leave Programs
  • Serve as backup support for payroll, onboarding/new hire management processing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

3 years experience in performing in an administrative capacity, with experience in Human Resources preferred.

Wage:

The wage range for this position is $22-28/hr. depending on relatable experience as determined by HR.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Eagerness to learn new skills and systems and meet people
  • Ability to plan and coordinate schedules
  • Ability to read and interpret practice standards, procedures and government standards and regulations
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer experience (Microsoft applications, etc.)
  • Basic mathematical skill
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
