Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for an HR Process & Governance Analyst. This role will be based at our global headquarters in Allentown, PA.
As a part of Air Products' MyHR team, this role will play a critical part in driving forward process transformation while ensuring our people-related activity is implemented extraordinarily. This role will be responsible for analyzing the current HR business processes and finding opportunities for optimization, efficiency, and simplification while sustaining improvements. You will support our regional and global HR transformation by working closely with the HR team and subject matter experts to drive process changes and improvement projects to completion.
This role will also provide support developing and structuring the HR process governance framework. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR policies and key processes across the employee life cycle so you can partner effectively with all team members. You will support the maintenance of an HR process library and governance of all HR processes with a comprehensive awareness and understanding of GDPR compliance requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze existing HR processes and workflows; collaborate with process owners and subject matter experts to document workflows and process requirements
- Seek opportunities for process optimization, efficiency, and simplification.
- Create and assist in maintaining a repository of process flows
- Collaborate with the HRIS and IT teams to understand and document impacts to business processes from new Workday releases, configuration changes, etc.
- Identify risks in processes and recommend approaches for risk mitigation; identify chronic issues and suggest corrective actions
- Outline and map cross-functional process touchpoints to understand downstream and/or cross stream impacts of changes, key dependencies and decision points
- Document key process measures and critical metrics for each HR business process
- Facilitate problem solving sessions with process partners to validate cases for new system/process enhancement requests for use in the prioritization process
- Assess and ensures adherence to established processes.
- Define metrics to evaluate and audit the performance of HR processes and the impact of any improvements implemented.
- Document, optimize and provide governance over HR processes and RACI documentation. This includes improving service delivery in terms of efficiency and/or cost savings by evaluating current HR processes, identifying areas for improvement, making recommendations, or developing solutions, and communicating them clearly to partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience implementing process improvements (Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus)
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) knowledge useful with the ability to translate data legislation into HR practices and ways of working.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to get into the detail while understanding the bigger picture.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adhere to project targets.
- Solid verbal/ written communication, problem-solving, analytical, and independent judgment skills to support an environment driven by customer service and partnership
- Confidentiality and integrity are a must
- Ability to drive decision-making while influencing and building rapport throughout all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail and experience writing and documenting business processes
- Microsoft office suite required, strong in Excel, PowerPoint and Visio; Workday or SAP experience preferred
