We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a HS Data Verification Processor on our Health Solutions team. This position can be hybrid (working from both office and home), with a schedule to be determined by business needs.
As a HS Data Verification Processor you will be in direct support of the AMA’s Physician Masterfile, collect, evaluate and maintain physician address, communications and practice data essential to supporting all of the Association’s core business and organizational activities. Maintain and utilize operational knowledge of address standards and regulations set by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to ensure the highest level of deliverability and accuracy. Utilize knowledge of Masterfile data and Web-based sources of physician information to match externally sourced records to the Masterfile, and continually explore and evaluate new sources of information.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Continuously evaluate the quality, accuracy and currency of data sources to ensure optimal database quality. Apply appropriate communication and category restrictions upon request ensuring proper data usage by internal and external customers and across all AMA products and services that utilize these data.
- Research and reconcile Masterfile records that failed to meet USPS address standards or AMA business rules for automated update. Utilize the most appropriate means to effectively resolve data anomalies identified through on-going quality sweeps and reports. Evaluate addresses received from third party sources, conduct telephone inquiries to locate, validate and update undeliverable addresses on the Masterfile.
- Document and maintain internal business processes that support the highest level of data integrity and quality. Participate in on-going Masterfile data quality improvement initiatives by resolving duplicate Masterfile records and researching credentials for non-US medical graduates. Address and respond to physician investigation requests or inquiries regarding data maintained on the Physician Masterfile. Assist with reconciling Masterfile data anomalies that resulted from Computer Assisted Match (CAM) batch processing.
- Coordinate processing of Physician Census survey exceptions, including extracting and sorting response contents, scanning and tracking results and applying proper updates and restrictions within specified turnaround time. Support division-wide Masterfile maintenance and quality efforts such as the Group Practice project

REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma is required. Some college course work or relevant training is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a professional office environment with a service
component required. - Demonstrated ability to work with highly sensitive/confidential information. Previous credentials
verification experience is a plus. - Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience using the Microsoft Office Suite of
applications and some MS Access experience is preferred. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for evaluating and comparing data. Ability to exercise
good judgment in making independent decisions. - Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks; strong organizational and task tracking skills.
- Must be able to tolerate a high stress environment with a heavy workload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Pleasant and professional phone manner.
- Knowledge of established standards governing physician communication and practice data on the
AMA Physician masterfile preferred. - AMA’s safety and policy protocols require proof of full vaccination against COVID19 for employment at AMA (including booster when eligible). Employees may apply for a religious or medical exemption from getting the vaccine.
