As a 1241 Human Resources Analyst, Paraeducator Staffing, you will report to the Director of Civil Service & Paraeducator Staffing in Human Resources and play an integral role in achieving the mission and goals of SFUSD through the recruitment, selection, placement, and processing of applicants for paraeducator positions for school sites, most of whom serve our students with disabilities and English Language Learners. This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to have a profound impact on SFUSD delivering on its promise of ensuring access and equity for each student.

We expect our 1241 Human Resources Analyst, Paraeducator Staffing to:

  • Support the functions of the paraeducator staffing office, including reviewing and approving online paperwork from sites/departments to determine posting and changing of position data; screening applications; referring qualified candidates to open positions; hiring new staff; processing paperwork; informing new hires of pertinent information; entering information in the District employee information system; and creating personnel files
  • Review, analyze, and process data for consolidation and layoff processes; determine eligibility for special pay premiums: longevity pay and bilingual pay
  • Participate in the collective bargaining process by preparing classification data and reports in support of negotiations covering paraeducators
  • Maintain seniority lists and the 39-month recall list of all paraeducator classifications
  • Screen employment applications; refers qualified candidates to open positions; contacts applicants for paraeducator substitute positions
  • Provide information to departmental representatives, managers, employees, applicants, other agencies and the general public; interprets and explains personnel rules and policies; represents employing department in meetings with other departments
  • Prepare electronic communication including letters, reports, memoranda, and forms
  • Assist in the development of a departmental personnel program including hiring, preparing reports, and analyzing data on position vacancies, workforce composition, and staffing needs; and provides consultation and information to managers regarding personnel issues

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited college or university.
One (1) year of professional human resources experience in one or more of the following areas of activity: recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration and human resources operations.
Education Substitution - Verifiable professional human resources work experience in one or more of the following areas may substitute for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis: recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee and/or labor relations, benefits administration and human resources operations. (One year of experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester or 45 quarter units of college coursework.)
Experience Substitution - Completion of a 12 month human resources trainee program equivalent to the City and County of San Francisco’s 1249 Human Resources Training Program may substitute for the one (1) year of required professional experience.

SFUSD offers a competitive salary of $77,093 - $93,627 commensurate with experience in a similar position.
