Position Overview

The HR Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department. This role directly supports the HR Director and other professional HR staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Handle day to day employee HR related questions
  • Maintain the company HRIS system
  • Manage the onboarding of new hires, including but not limited to: employee new hire paperwork, I-9 completion, administering background checks and drug screens, answering questions, assigning new hire training, coordinating IT tickets, updating HR systems data, etc.
  • Manage all aspects of termination offboarding process, including but not limited to: completing exit interviews, coordinating IT tickets, updating HR systems data, etc.
  • Maintain employee records and files electronically and manually
  • Resolve Time and Attendance issues
  • Track all temporary employees and provide reports to management
  • Support Recruitment activities, coordinate interviews, update Recruitment data, screen resumes, conduct phone screens, etc.
  • Partner with Benefits and Payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee data and changes
  • File, organize, fax, photocopy, enter data, and write correspondence accurately and on schedule
  • Assist with employee communications including the monthly newsletter
  • Administer and coordinate company LMS training programs and performance appraisals
  • Complete special projects and support HR programs
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed

Experience and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or Business preferred
  • Minimum one year of experience as an HR Assistant/Coordinator
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented, accurate and flexible
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using a Human Resources Information System (HRIS); ADP WorkforceNow preferred
  • Maintian confidential business matters and information with discretion
