Nature of Work

Under general supervision, perform professional human resource duties in the areas of payroll, recruitment, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, time keeping, personnel records, or other human resources roles. Responsible for tracking all positions, vacancies, and pending transactions regarding registers and job postings for the district office. Work with Human Resources Assistant to ensure all new hire documents and payroll/benefits are submitted in a timely manner. Keep all personnel records up-to-date and organized. Work must adhere to agency policies and Division of Personnel regulations. This class is used as the beginning of professional human resources class series. Performs related work as required.

Mandatory overtime may be an essential function of this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or part-time equivalent paid clerical experience, one (1) year of which must have been in a support or paraprofessional role in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting.

Substitution: Candidates may substitute education for the required experience at the rate of one (1) year of experience for each thirty (30) semester hours of education.

Note: A valid driver's license may be required.
