As the HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will be responsible for bringing innovative and strategic practices and programs to the allocated client groups with particular emphasis on Talent Management & Organization Design, Transformation and Change, Recruitment & Retention, Compensation & Benefits and Employee Relations. In this role, you will be supporting leadership and colleagues across a range of HR activities thereby enabling the attraction, development and retention of “best-in-class” talent. Building a cohesive partnership with all functions within HR, including Talent Management, Compensation and Benefits is imperative.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Being a strategic advisor and thought partner for the Americas Middle Market, Reinsurance & AXA Entities organizations.
  • Cultivating effective working relationships with business management teams by advising business leaders on people-management and employee relations issues, training and development, in alignment with HR initiatives.
  • Challenging, provoking and coaching business leaders on how to engage colleagues, address people issues and build people capabilities effectively.
  • Leading and supporting the leadership teams on transformation and change activities.
  • Proactively developing, recommending and implementing HR strategic and tactical plans to support business goals, specifically with regard to staffing, retention, training, learning and development, immigration and employee relations.
  • Advising managers on all employee issues including contractual changes, disciplinary matters and long-term leave (e.g. maternity leave, sickness, etc.) to ensure a fair and consistent approach within parameters of legal obligations and corporate/local policies.
  • Partnering with the Compensation team to advise managers on salary, long term incentives and promotions.
  • Supporting managers in the sourcing, selection and hiring of world-class talent. May include helping to manage the headcount approval process, advising on resourcing strategies and immigration matters, liaising with and managing third party recruitment, interviewing candidates, designing compensation packages and negotiating offers. All of this will be done in close partnership with the internal Talent Acquisition team.
  • Partnering with the Talent Management COE on training needs analyses, identifying development solutions and coordinating talent management activities within allocated groups in conjunction with management and HR leadership while ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Partnering with leaders on their teams’ organization effectiveness, structure and development of key talent. This will include succession planning, optimization of their teams (including building more effective teams) and support of change management initiatives.
  • Supporting managers and employees on the annual performance management process and on sustaining performance management activities throughout the year while using these activities to build and maintain knowledge of "key talent" within allocated groups.
  • Managing and/or contributing to local projects and strategic initiatives both in support of the Head of HR and as part of the HR network, as required.

You will report to the Head of HR, US & Canada.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field required. Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible and varied HR experience in a matrix environment, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Experience within the Middle Market industry preferred.
  • Solid HR foundational skills in talent acquisition, talent development, compensation, employee relations and workforce planning.
  • Familiarity with US employment law.
  • Proven experience in transformation situations with successful participation in change management efforts.
  • Experience leading talent development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Prior experience with generating and analyzing HR metrics to drive business results; reliable business acumen.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication, presentation, facilitation and influence management skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Keen customer focus with a willingness to ensure that the customer perspective is a driving force behind decisions and activities.
  • Pragmatic, with the ability to devise right-sized solutions to problems, often with incomplete information.
  • Comfort with and ability to navigate through ambiguity; ability to prioritize multiple streams of work from multiple sources without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong results-orientation and sense of urgency with a laser focus on service delivery; willingness to be hands-on with a "can-do, will-do" attitude.

The pay range for this position is $95,000 to $182,000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
