The Opportunity:
We are currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join the team in Milwaukee, WI. Reporting to the North Region HR Director, s/he will be responsible for supporting managers with employees’ relations issues and provide guidance on employee matters.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Executing our talent development goals, assist with talent management initiatives, including but not limited to succession planning, talent review meetings, and identification of key talent for assignment to career growth roles. and collection and dissemination of talent related data
  • Actively participate in the planning and delivery of employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Act as system administrator for web-based talent management system. Drive optimized use of system by associates.
  • Edit and build HR materials which may include templates, tools, and other resources in order to improve overall efficiency, effectiveness and employee experience.
  • Manage the annual milestone service anniversary process.
  • Provide training to managers on HR-related subjects (policies and procedures, performance evaluation process, conducting interviews, progressive discipline etc.
  • Assist with talent management initiatives, including but not limited to succession planning, talent review meetings, and identification of key talent for assignment to career growth roles.
  • Conduct investigations of moderate complexity, make recommendations for corrective action as needed. Support and contribute to investigations of larger, more complex scope.
  • Counsel management and associates on job performance, administer individual performance improvement process as appropriate.
  • Coach managers on matters of employment-related compliance & “managing within the law,” i.e. EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA etc.
  • Identify need/opportunity for developmental training, make recommendations for and engage with inside or outside resources as needed.
  • Preview employment actions to identify and mitigate risk before decisions are made.
  • Support restructuring efforts as needed, identifying exposure and making fact-based recommendations for adjustments to re-org proposals.
  • Engage with outside employment counsel as appropriate.
  • Supports change efforts in support of business strategy.
  • Assist with benefit questions and administration as applicable.
  • Assist with staffing and recruitment efforts.
  • Assist in preparation and delivery of HR-related communications for the North region.
  • Demonstrate highest levels of ethics and integrity and prioritize to changing demands.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in an exempt Human Resources professional role preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in employment laws and regulations.

ADP Enterprise, PeopleSoft or SAP payroll experience preferred.

  • High level of experience in maintaining and exercising discretion in the handling of confidential information.

Superior poise, presence, and ability to project leadership, credibility, and authority.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, as well as self-motivated to work independently in a fast paced environment; ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, set schedules, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to project confidence and comfort dealing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • HRIS experience required. ADP EV5, eTime experience preferred.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience required.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
