SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Chief People Officer, the Human Resources Generalist for talent acquisition and retention is responsible for the day-to-day management of the recruitment lifecycle. This position is also responsible for successful onboarding all new hires and is integrally involved in our staff culture and retention programs. Primary responsibilities will include identification of best recruitment methods, posting open positions, screening, and onboarding processes. The HR Generalist will work directly with managers to identify their needs and fill positions. This position is also responsible for leading employee retention efforts including conducting post-hire interviews and planning annual employee retention events.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing the recruitment process to include posting ads, screening candidates and conducting background checks.
- Manages the onboarding process for all new employees.
- Responsible for attracting new talent, networking and researching to develop relationships and new channels for recruitment.
- Works directly with supervisors to assure that the onboarding process with each new employee and tracks to assure full completion.
- Responsible for conducting stay/retention interviews with new employees after their first 60 days of employment.
- Assists the Chief People Officer with developing and implementing new onboarding and retention initiatives.
- Hires and supervises the summer HR Intern.
- Reviews and updates all HR forms, Employee Handbook and Onboarding materials as necessary.
- Responsible for training new supervisors on the Dayforce recruitment platform.
- Responsible for coordinating, planning and implementation of JCC staff culture events and experiences to include JStar awards and year-end annual staff recognition event.
- Collaborates with the Chief People Officer to schedule, set the agenda and oversee new staff orientation.
- Manages invoicing for the department assuring that bills are accurate and submitted in a timely manner for payment.
- Participate in departmental and agency training, staff meetings, committees and special events.
- Maintains and enforce agency policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required; PHR/SHRM Certification a plus.
- Three to Five years of work-related experience; Talent management experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer software, including Word, Excel and Outlook; Familiarity with HRIS a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain employee data at the highest level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Office environment; must be able to be present in the office.
- Able to be sedentary for more than 75% of work hours.
- Occasional weekend and evening hours.
- Able to move freely about the office.
- Able to operate a computer and other office productivity, such as telephone, copy machine and printer.
- Able to communicate with others and exchange accurate information.
- Able to Move supplies or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds as needed.
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
