AC Hotel by Marriott – San Diego, CA

Summary
As Property HR Manager you will:
  • Take ownership of compliance, time management, HR administration, training, employee relations and investigations, recruiting, and onboarding at the San Diego property
  • Have a daily presence in our AC San Diego location, interacting with hotel, lounge, and restaurant associates, both hourly and managers
  • Effectively document, investigate, and resolve employee relations issues; with full communication to and cooperation with Director of HR, located in our NJ corporate office
  • Provide recruiting and onboarding support
  • Participate in HR team planning and strategy, as well as operations succession planning
  • Work with the Operations team to create a culture of recognition
  • Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and laws, guiding the team where needed
  • Champion employee morale / satisfaction
  • Provide employee centered communication and role-modeling
  • Foster and facilitate communication between managers and teammates; build teamwork
  • Facilitate Harassment Prevention, Civil Treatment, and other trainings as required
  • Complete personnel and I9 File Audits
  • Foster and facilitate communication between managers and staff
  • General HR administration
  • Other tasks as assigned by the GM/SVP Ops and/or Director Of HR/VPHR

Required Skill, Knowledge, and Ability
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Human Resources partner
  • Fluent in Spanish speaking and writing is a PLUS
  • College degree, or equivalent experience
  • Expert level Employee Relations experience
  • Intermediate to expert level experience conducting investigations
  • Expert level verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Intermediate level experience Performance Management, Employee Satisfaction, consensus building / conflict resolution
  • Introductory knowledge and experience in restaurant and/or hotel operations
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of federal, local, and state employment laws
  • Requires strict adherence to confidentiality
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be able to work non-traditional work hours – evenings and weekends required
