Job description
The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Human Resources and will perform a variety of human resources responsibilities in the areas of employee relations, recruiting, unemployment claims, HRIS etc., and will complete special projects as assigned in all areas of HR.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Manages all applicants through the Paycom Applicant Tracking Tool
- Coordinate all new hire pre-employment steps including, reference checks, background screenings, new employee orientation, on-boarding, including all necessary compliance training, probationary reviews and 90 check-ins
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Maintain and update HR databases consistently and efficiently, while maintaining confidentiality
- Respond to inquiries regarding employment verifications and unemployment claim inquiries
- Upload and maintain HR content on the Company Intranet
- Provide advice and counsel to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding policies, procedures, performance issues, disciplinary action, and terminations
- Conduct exit interviews and coordinate ‘off-boarding’ process
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5 years of previous experience in Human Resources administration
- Proficiency with various computer software including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HR software, experience with Paycom a plus
- Sense of urgency in completing tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with highly sensitive/confidential matters
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Superior written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of HRIS and recruitment platforms
- Excellent organization and time management skills
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
