The Prince William County Department of Social Services seeks a highly motivated individual to fill a Part-Time Human Services Caseworker Associate position on the Foster Care Team in the Family Services Division. The Foster Care Team works with families who are at high risk for child abuse and neglect. About this Role
The Part-Time Human Services Caseworker Associate coordinates with the Human Services Caseworkers to deliver services to clients such as conducting home visits, supervising visitation and providing transportation to appointments. You will assist clients to overcome barriers to meet their personal, social, health and economic needs. You will also assist with collecting and maintaining statistical information about clients in their programs and recording information in case records.
This is a part-time position, and you will work primarily in the field (client’s homes, schools and in court); your ability to work independently is essential. You may be exposed to hostile family situations/individuals, and unsanitary and hazardous conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with at-risk children and families in a human services environment; experience assisting families to overcome personal, social, health and economic barriers; and, experience preparing reports and maintaining case documentation.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
PREFERENCES
Experience working in child welfare or foster care programs. Experience teaching independence and life skills to teen-aged youth; working with youth in foster care and their families, Experience preparing reports and maintaining case documentation and bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Monday – Friday, 30 hours, may be required to work outside normal hour schedule and on-call duties.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must pass local, state and federal background checks.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $25.88 - $38.82 Hourly
