HVAC Controls Design Engineer (Direct Position with salary and benefits package)

Summary

Under Our Project Management supervision, this individual will be responsible for the design and engineering of building automation and security system hardware using Our standards, based on project estimates, plans, specifications and other contract documents for various educational, commercial and industrial facilities. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Our field installation team and subcontractors. Must ensure documents are accurate and complete. Expected to interface with customers, engineers, and sub-contractors.

This position serves our Missouri office with little travel required, only as needed to job sites located within the office territory.

Job Duties

• Complete the hardware design and engineering for control and security systems design by utilizing Our’s standard design library choosing the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide a quality cost effective solution.

• Independently design and engineering of controls systems hardware using Our standards, based on project estimates, plans, specifications and other contract documents.

• Designs building automation systems for large and/or complex buildings consisting of mechanical, system layouts, network layouts, electrical schematics, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications, and contract documents.

• Design large complex building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, third-party integration devices and various platforms. I.E. Lon, Ethernet, Modbus, BACNET.

• Generate DDC point database on all projects.

• Performs software programming using established standards as a basis of design.

• Assist in loading and commissioning of the BAS, including network-level controllers.

• Assist in systems start-up and validation of system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to complete the project installation.

• Select, order and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects.

• Provide start-up and checkout documentation to the Project Manager to use during the commissioning and validation process.

• Prepare engineering re-estimates and follows up with appropriate sales and management to verify this meets the job scope and requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
