Job description

As our HVAC Install Helper, you are confident in your skills and abilities and not afraid to make decisions. You are driven and competitive - but not afraid to admit when you don't know something and need help. Our HVAC Install Helper is primarily responsible for removing, installing, and starting up new HVAC systems, including ductwork and IAQ products. You will work as a 2-person team to ensure timely and accurate service to clients in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform the removal, installation, and startup of new residential HVAC systems
  • Work closely with the Install Coordinator and fellow Installation Technicians to provide clients with excellent service as outlined in department policies and procedures
  • Maintain a high standard of clean-up before leaving any job site
  • Working as a team with the crew lead to get the job done professionally, efficiently, and in a safe manner
  • Request necessary parts and equipment in advance to ensure the installation truck is loaded properly with all materials needed to complete each job
  • Responsible for the vehicle upkeep, record logs, and driving of vehicle; valid driver's license required
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 years of previous HVAC Install experience (Change Out or New Construction)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to exercise judgement and make appropriate decisions
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of required tools
  • Ability to work synergistically with crew partner(s), also independently and accurately
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. The employee must be comfortable working in tight spaces for an extended period of time in attics and crawl spaces as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation & Hours

Starting wage of $18.00 - $25.00 per hour Depending on Experience

Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible start and end times depending on business needs)

Days: Monday - Friday
