Job description

We are looking for an HVAC-R Supervisor to join our dynamic team and provide service for Lincoln Surgical Hospital, Eye Surgical Associates, Nebraska Surgery Center and Sutton Dermatology + Aesthetics.

The HVAC-R Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficiencies and compliance of the day-to-day operation of the Heating/Air Conditioning and/or Refrigeration Systems; identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; ensuring that adequate materials are available to complete all Preventive and Restorative Maintenance assignments, and the supervision of assigned staff.

Hours: Full time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks), Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates with requesting departments for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
  • Works collaboratively within the Facilities Department and with outside contractors on projects that require overlapping functions and multiple trades.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions of heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems.
  • Ensures routine maintenance is performed on all mechanical systems and building components in accordance with manufactures guidelines, if applicable.
  • Operates and maintains HVAC and Mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, O&M’s and design specifications.
  • Performs routine general maintenance and repairs in HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Electrical Systems.
  • Cleans and repairs Air Handling Units, Valves, Dampers, Heat Exchangers, Closed Systems, Boilers, Chillers, Thermostats, Variable Air Volume Systems, as well as any other combination of heating/cooling units and associated equipment.
  • Supervisor responsibilities include the selection and hiring of staff in coordination with Human Resources, training, scheduling, assigning work, conducting performance appraisals, initiating corrective action, terminating, coaching, and staff development.
  • Provides training and orientation for new employees per established procedures.
  • Serves as a resource and technical expert to employees to provide information, explain procedures/processes, and answer questions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2-5 years of facilities maintenance and/or project management experience is required.
  • HVAC-R certification required.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,680.00 - $80,704.00 per year
