Job description
We're Lick Honest Ice Creams and have been producing the finest, locally sourced, seasonally inspired ice creams in Austin since 2011! We are currently hiring an Assistant Manager at our Lamar Union location and at our Mueller location. We work hard and get rave reviews from media around the country. We are rapidly expanding and looking for outgoing, happy, responsible, and positive individuals who love ice cream as much as we do to join our ice cream shop family!
Position Summary
The role of the Assistant Manager is to be second in command to the Shop Manager and assist the Manager in executing daily operations, procedures, staff supervision and customer experience of the shop. This person, like all members of management, is essentially an extension of the owners, supporting their business goals of assuring happy and satisfied customers, friendly, knowledgeable and dependable employees and an exciting, unique and fulfilling experience for both fellow employees and customers. Duties & Expectations
- Fully engage in day to day operations
- Maintain highest shop and kitchen sanitary and cleanliness levels
- Create a customer experience while scooping ice cream and providing genuine, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service
- Accurately process all transactions, cash, credit cards, and gift cards. Able to count the drawer accurately and prepare deposits
- Coach and support new and existing scoopers, shift leaders and cone makers
- Assist shop manager with disciplinary action with employees
- Act as primary supervisor in Shop Manager’s absence (vacation, time off, etc.)
- Monitor staff knowledge, scoop sizes and employee/customer interaction and guide staff as necessary
- Take initiative & lead by example
- Ensure safe environment within shop by monitoring employee actions and customer behavior
Qualifications
- 2+ years Food Service or hospitality experience required
- 2+ years Customer Service experience required
- 2+ years supervisory experience required
- Ice cream experience is a plus!
- Reliable and dependable transportation
- Food Handlers Certificate required (within 30 days of hire)
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
Essential Functions
- Handle public inquiries in a timely and friendly manner
- Maintain a flexible schedule based on shop needs
- Must be available for 5 shifts a week
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members (face-to face or by telephone)
- Able to read and comprehend written material
- Able to stand for shifts lasting up to, but not limited to, 8 hours of time on concrete flooring
- Perform tasks which involve repetitive motion including, but not limited to, the use of arms, hands, wrists, back
- Able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Manage one’s time and the time of others
- Monitor and control resources, including but not limited to collecting payments for goods or services, counting and managing till, managing inventories
