A-List Education is a boutique educational services provider specializing in test preparation and advising programs for college-bound students. We proudly partner with several schools and nonprofit organizations in the NYC metro area to provide test preparation classes to students who may not otherwise have access. We are currently seeking part-time proctors to deliver high quality SAT practice tests on-site at our various partner schools and nonprofit organizations located throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx.

Job Description

Proctors work with program managers to coordinate the handoff of materials in advance. On test day, proctors travel to partner schools, administer a variety of in-person practice standardized tests (most frequently the SAT), read directions to students, organize materials, record attendance, keep accurate time, monitor student test-takers, and maintain an appropriate and professional atmosphere. Proctors may also be asked to address logistical issues and resolve problems as they arise. Proctors are scheduled in advance on weekends (mostly Saturday mornings, 10am-2pm) and select weekdays. Pay is $20/hr for time spent proctoring (so usually a 4/hr, $80 assignment). Proctors are independent contractors (1099 employees).

• Reliable, organized, and punctual
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attentive to detail
• Comfortable speaking in public
• Experience working with youth
• Have access to reliable transportation
• Ability to travel to programs located in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and/or the Bronx

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting

Schedule

Most often Saturdays (10am – 2pm), but potentially on other days and at other times throughout the week

Please note that testing will not happen on every single weekend. Assignments will be offered up to a group of proctors on a first-come, first-served basis. Our schedule generally coincides with the school calendar.
