Job Title: Restaurant General Manager

Pay: Starting at $70,000 per year (plus a percentage of the service charge pool)

Paid Time Off/Work-Life Balance: 3 weeks accrued after 60 days of employment

Insurance: Employer pays 75% of plan costs

Essential Job Functions

Quality Control

  • Technical culinary food quality, nutritional and portion control standards.
  • Food product and service; guest relations standards.
  • Following all employee manual policies and procedures.

Operations

  • Contributing to the direction and providing inspirational leadership with the teams in In Room Dining, The Pool and Private Bar in order to maximize individual and team potential and develop future capability.
  • Guiding and inspiring exceptional team performance and mentor team members within the outlets.
  • Performing Daily Line Ups and communicating all required information to teams.
  • Acting as a spokesperson for the departments in order to achieve 1 Hotel’s vision and enhance and build a positive brand image with internal and external guests.
  • Attending Daily Hotel wide Operations meetings.
  • Reviewing daily arrival and Traces list for any special instructions.
  • Coordinating and working closely with other departments across the hotel to contribute to the success of the entire hotel.
  • Understanding and contributing to the day to day P & & L of the departments.
  • Supporting strategic planning and development opportunities for the department's financial and service goals.
  • Assigning and monitoring daily employee shift side work.
  • Double checking every order.
  • Personally serving all VIP orders with a server.
  • Identifying, customizing and delivering individual guest requirements.
  • Promoting the building of strong relationships with guests and employees through sincere communication and demonstrating a genuine desire to serve.
  • Communicating all special guest requests to the kitchen.
  • Monitoring Bus person duties and ensure they are performed.
  • Pace daily In Room Dining order distribution and deliveries.
  • Monitoring order/food pick-up/tray assembly/delivery time.
  • Compiling trip report logs.
  • Coordinating with Housekeeping to ensure removal of In Room Dining equipment from guest rooms and public areas.
  • Inspecting hotel areas/clearing areas for In Room Dining equipment.
  • Monitoring all aspects of In Room Dining operations.
  • Maintaining departmental supply storage organization and cleanliness requisitions.
  • Completing daily shift operation report.
  • Upholding staff uniform and grooming standards.
  • Completing Knowledge of LQA, Forbes and Core Standards.
  • Completing knowledge of systems used Including MICROS , HotSOS and ICS.

Personnel

  • Training, review and development
  • Work safety Emergency Procedure training and response according to Hotel Safety and Emergency Manuals.
  • Performing on-line performance evaluations.
  • Staff morale

Administration

  • Completing any management project or report assignment.

Other Responsibilities

  • Supervising employees in In Room Dining, The Pool and Private Bar areas.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units.
  • Carrying out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about food & beverage and a minimum of 2 years of similar work experience.
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of food & beverage operations, a strong leader and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
  • Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
  • Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
