We are a leading food manufacturer that seeks an experienced Inbound Receiving Supervisor- Normal working hours 7AM-4PM, some infrequent schedule flexibility might be required.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Manages inventory, receiving, and raw material acceptance work processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead a team of hourly employees to receive raw materials, receive primary packaging materials, and manage interplant transfers
  • Interact with customers directly and other departments to report schedules, attainment reports, batch logs, and receipts of materials per customers.
  • Supervise and oversee a team of union employees that receive raw materials and that allocate raw material batches to the production lines
  • Perform monthly inventory counts for raw materials / chemicals and provide gap analysis to variations
  • Manage receiving schedule to insure proper staffing for unloading raw materials
  • Perform material receipts through MRP software and confirm quantities
  • Ensure team adheres to proper receiving processes including accepting CoA paperwork upon delivery and ensuring accuracy and compliance with material specifications
  • Verifies materials specifications / SDS’ / Kosher compliance and maintains current work processes that are used for reporting.
  • Works with customers and planners to maintain FIFO, works with customers to dispose of materials for obsolescence, expiration, damage, etc.
  • Generate standards to assist in proper receipt of materials (One point lessons, Current Best Approach documents)
  • Maintains supplier approval program with acceptance of raw materials, assists in evaluating against criteria to ensure compliance with existing guidelines
  • Maintaining proper safety and GMP compliance for area of responsibility (equipment and facilities), identifying defects and work toward resolution.
  • Assists in receiving materials for new projects and customers, communicating with project team completion of milestones
  • Strive for the achievement of Individual, Department, and Company goals
  • Explore and recommend alternative methods to improve systems
  • Adhere to plant policies on Safety and GMPs and maintain safety programs to minimize accidents and injuries and to ensure a safe-working environment
  • Obtain fork lift license and train / qualify other employees on fork lift driving and maintenance
  • Perform other duties and assignments as defined by your manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Experience working with computers and have the ability to navigate and use designated software programs; acute knowledge of spreadsheets and database management is preferred
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills – must be comfortable communicating with carriers, customers, production facility, etc.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be highly organized to succeed in a fast-paced environment that demands quick problem-solving skills
  • Consistently track and meet deadlines
  • Fast learning curve and can take direction from team members

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is required. Three to five years relevant work experience working in a warehousing environment preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a typical warehouse/production type environment. Position requires sitting, operating a computer, telephone and other office equipment. Production and Warehouse areas have a temperature of approximately 35 - 90° F. Noise level in the production environment may require use of hearing protection. Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40lbs.
