As the Industrial Engineer, you will provide leadership for continuous improvement teams and technical expertise for solving all types of process problems. The primary goals of this role are to support the improvement of plant metrics such as productivity, defect rates, scrap, and customer PPM.

Our client, a very successful supplier to the automotive manufacturing industry, seeking a dynamic Industrial Engineer to join their Charleston, South Carolina facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall success of the Industrial Engineering department to launch production processes for new customer projects that are on time and cost competitive.
- Regular reporting of industrialization department and project status to upper management.
- New processes or improving current processes must be either to internal standards or must demonstrate internal best practice.
- Focus on training personnel from different areas following principles of the organization’s production System
- Maintain and support functions involving the plant layout, product costs, labor standards, Process Flow Diagrams, Work Instructions, etc.
- Must be able to identify opportunities of improvement, bring the Team and run Kaizen on the Value Stream according to the needs to improve costs and productivity.
- Work with the Industrialization team to improve work and material flow, increasing plant throughput.
- Provide input for developing new manufacturing cell layouts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in Engineering required; M.S. in Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Experience heat exchanger core building, brazing, welding, and leak testing processes a plus (heat exchanger processing experience).
- Experiences with lean manufacturing, TPM, Takt Time, SMED, VSM, Kanban, JIT, 5s
- Proven ability to lead major plant layout changes.
- Experience working with Auto cad.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational aptitude.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess strong computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, CAD programs, Visual Basic, etc.).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,206.78 - $107,708.38 per year
