- Responsible for the overall success of the Industrial Engineering department to launch production processes for new customer projects that are on time and cost competitive.
- Regular reporting of industrialization department and project status to upper management.
- New processes or improving current processes must be either to internal standards or must demonstrate internal best practice.
- Focus on training personnel from different areas following principles of MAHLE Production System
- Maintain and support functions involving the plant layout, product costs, labor standards, Process Flow Diagrams, Work Instructions, etc.
- Must be able to identify opportunities of improvement, bring the Team and run Kaizen on the Value Stream according the needs to improve costs and productivity.
- Work with the Industrialization team to improve work and material flow, increasing plant throughput.
- Provide input for developing new manufacturing cell layouts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- B.S. in Engineering required; M.S. in Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Experience with standard work, cycle time creation (ie MTM), line balancing, and capacity planning
- Experiences with lean manufacturing, TPM, Takt Time, SMED, VSM, Kanban, JIT, 5s
- Experience working with AutoCAD (Solidworks a plus)
- Experience brazing, welding, assembly, and leak testing processes a plus (heat exchanger processing experience).
- Strong interpersonal and organizational aptitude.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess strong computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, CAD programs, Visual Basic, etc.).
