Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Full Time/1st Shift)
Job description
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead Person, or Shift Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic maintains the quality performance of production, auxiliary and repair equipment to enhance an efficient and safe plant operation.
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual.)
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Prior use of an Industrial CMMS System preferred.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations in a Food Production facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment
- In-depth knowledge of system maintenance, especially around automated equipment
- Ability to lift and move/rig heavy equipment
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations
- Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports
- Perform welding/cutting operations
- Interpret Blueprints and sketches
