Alcorta Forging Group USA is a hot forging automotive component manufacturer based near Bilbao, Spain. The company is 102 years old and is completely dedicated to the automotive industry. In 2012, Alcorta USA, Inc. was created to serve our existing customer base in the Nafta region and to grow our presence and activities in this market. In 2021 Alcorta acquired a forging plant in New Boston, MI. Alcorta is looking to add an Industrial Maintenance Technician to the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction
• Discuss machine operation variations with supervisors to diagnose problems or repair machine
• Dismantles defective machines/equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Follow specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools to install or repair defective machines
• Clean and lubricate shaft bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment
• Install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications
• Set up and operate machine tools, such as grinder, drill to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
• Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures
• Perform other related duties as required or directed

Essential Function:

• Will be proficient at trouble shooting and using critical thinking skills to find root causes and to repair mechanical issues
• Must be able to read blueprints and schematics, and to use a variety of tools and diagnostic devises to service and install parts.
• Must have familiarity with programmable logic controllers.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years' experience in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting machine controls
• Installation and construction of new equipment
• PLC experience required
