Job Description

Position Description: I.T. Assistant

Program Area: Administration

FLSA: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Reports to: I.T. Coordinator

Position Summary: The I.T. Assistant is responsible for ensuring that computer and technology operations are working properly so that the end user can accomplish GWTP tasks.

This includes assisting with installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment to ensure optimal system performance. Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where required.

Essential Tasks:

● Manage and respond to emaint tickets in a timely manner

● Respond to customer issues via phone, email and computer chat

● Provide customer assistance

● Document customer interactions

● Troubleshoot and diagnose computer-related hardware and software problems
● Install, make changes and repair computer hardware and software

● Escalate issues to the next Tier with next level of difficulty

● Maintain inventory of assets

● Follow-up with staff to ensure issues are resolved

● Assist with managing website domains and restore lost data

● Assist with tracking all technical devices

● Assist with purchasing electronic devices

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or in the pursuit of, in the Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent field preferred; 1-2 years previous experience working as Help Desk clerk using remote support tools; Proficiency needed in

Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, and general knowledge of PC hardware and printers. Experience with Google applications required. IC3 and A+ Certification desirable.

Work Environment:

The typical work environment is at an assigned workstation located within a multi purpose facility. Noise will be moderate to high depending on activities in the center.

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, stoop, and walk. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must adhere to proper handling and lifting techniques.

● The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Safety Requirements:

Prior to first day of work, must complete a criminal background and sex offender clearance.

Equipment Used:

Employee will generally use general office equipment including but not limited to: telephone, various electronic devices, copier, paper and filing systems.

Supervision:

Direction received from the I.T.Coordinator. Does not supervise any employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
