Job Summary:

This position is responsible serves as first level support to employees and may require installing, configuring, and troubleshooting local area computer networks and associated assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration, and installation
• Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring
• Maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security
• Trains users on software and equipment usage
• Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems
• Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts
• Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups, and downtime to users
• Assists in the technical aspect of setting up new hires in systems
• Monitors and maintains network stability and service tickets
• Evaluates local area network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience

• Associate’s Degree from a two-year college or technical school unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council as based on determined experience and accomplishments.
• One (1) to two (2) years related experience as well as other relevant educational, trade school, or work experience
• Software Experience: Solaris, SCO, Veritas Backup, Exec, Windows 2K3 (including Patch MNGT)
• Systems experience: Cisco PIX, Barracuda, Kronos, routers, Wi-Fi WAP, Phone Systems
• Hardware experience: Multi-mode fiber, network switches
• A+ Certification Highly Desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
• Knowledge of minimum internal control standards for IT
• Strong oral and analytical skills
• Ability to effectively communicate problems pertaining to computers and their functionality to users with minimal computer knowledge and skill
• Ability to multitask such as working on computers, answering questions, and monitoring the performance of other computers
• Skilled in networking departments together for optimal business performance
• Skilled in supporting a Local Area Network, intranet connectivity, and a client/server environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $25.50 per hour
