Guardian Alarm Installation Technicians install, repair, replace, and troubleshoot the components of a safety or security system. They frequently work in both commercial and residential areas, either as an installer for a specific system or a wide variety of alarm systems. Other responsibilities of Installation Technicians include programming alarm systems, maintaining records of work performed, demonstrating the use of security systems, and answering customer questions.

Essential Duties:

  • Install or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment for residential and/or commercial property
  • Apply high quality Installation techniques
  • Meet or exceed Installation production requirements
  • Maintain the appropriate level and quality of tools
  • Install or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment for residential and/or commercial property
  • Follow blueprints of electrical layouts, residential layouts and building plans
  • Install or repair audio and visual smart devices, such as remote access locks, security cameras and/or smart burglar alarms
  • Provide and maintain all licenses, permits or technical qualifications that are, or may be required by any governmental agency as part of that which is necessary to fulfill the duties of this position. This shall include but not be limited to Public Act 217
  • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems through various troubleshooting techniques

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GEG required

· Familiarity with mobile tools and applications required

· Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record

· Experience with wire pulling or low voltage wiring preferred
