Job description
Starting salary for this position is: $18.20
Employees starting at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter. If an employee starting at anything higher than the entry step of the range, will have salary step advancement after 12 months and salary step advancement every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range. Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase in salary.

This part-time, hourly position offers a flexible schedule of up to 69 hours/month when classes are in session.
GENERAL DEFINITION
This position works under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean of PACE Services. PACE Services is a branch of the Adult Basic Education Division and provides instruction to students with cognitive disabilities or mental health challenges.
The successful candidate for this position will perform routine instructional support services for the division. Duties include activities such as assisting in the preparation of classroom materials; assisting students with coursework assignments; individualized and group instruction for the development of learning skills such as reading, writing, study skills, or other discipline-specific instructional areas; or general classroom support.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists supervisor/instructor/students with classroom coursework;
- Supports students with study skills, course concepts, assignments, or other discipline-specific instructional areas.
- Assists supervisor/instructor with preparing materials;
- Assists students in identifying classroom and electronic resources and materials.
- Attend all required trainings and orientations.
- Performs other work as required.
- Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions.
- Complies with district policy, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statute and collective bargaining agreements.
- Supports and advances the CCS strategic plan, and performs related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma.
- Proficiency with technology.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Six months to two years of full or part-time experience/training in the appropriate discipline or equivalent education/experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is performed in a normal, temperature-controlled office environment.
- Work is sedentary in nature.
- Frequent use of computer and exposure to terminal screens.
